BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – By now you may have seen the video of Birmingham Mayor William Bell and UAB President Ray Watts extolling the virtues of Birmingham on a business program in New York.
But the trip Bell and Watts took with the Birmingham Business Alliance to the Big Apple was about more than just getting front of the cameras. Some of the most important work took place behind the scenes.
The two-day trip was the fourth annual New York marketing trip the BBA has held to get the word out about the Birmingham region to national media and economic development decision makers. It falls under the BBA's "Blueprint Birmingham" initiative to improve Birmingham's image.
