London Calling: British Airways Announces First Transatlantic Nonstop to Austin

British Airways today announced that it will launch a new service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and London Heathrow beginning March 3, 2014. This will be the first regular transatlantic flight for the city of Austin.

British Airways will operate a Boeing 787 aircraft five days a week, increasing to daily flights later in the year. Seats and vacation packages are available for purchase at ba.com beginning today.

GLI launches strategic planning process

Greater Louisville Inc., the metro chamber of commerce, is embarking on a new economic and community development planning process.

Advantage Louisville is aimed at ensuring that the community is focused on the right priorities and competitive strategies for the future, according to a news release. It is expected to be the most comprehensive planning undertaken since the 1997 Boyle Report, which identified Louisville’s strengths, such as health care and logistics.
