Storylines emerge in Fayette Vision

We’d like to personally thank the approximately 160 Fayette citizens who attended the March 5, 2014 Fayette Visioning public meeting at Sandy Creek High School.

Though the Competitive Assessment report was released to the public earlier in the year, this meeting marked the first time the public heard directly from our consulting partner Market Street Services, Inc. about the visioning process stages and the research showing Fayette County’s current economic, demographic and physical characteristics.

One Macon study: Concerted effort needed on longstanding problems

Schools, jobs and places -- those are the three pillars Macon-Bibb County needs to build as the base for a successful future, according to a “One Macon!” study.

Concerted efforts by educational institutions and private business for better local schools, training for higher-skilled jobs and incentives for local business start-ups, and improved entertainment and civic infrastructure are all needed so Macon-Bibb County can compete with other cities for growth and investment, said authors of the study from Atlanta-based Market Street Services Inc.

RAEDI pushes plans to diversify area economy

Talk at the annual Rochester Economic Development Inc. luncheon focused on ways to grow the community.

RAEDI actively supports Mayo Clinic and the Destination Medical Center initiative, but that's not the only way to make the area stronger. The group is partnering with the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce to create a five-year plan that aims to improve the economy from a different angle.
