Macon Chamber of Commerce To Begin New Plan To Push City Forward

MACON, Georgia - If you want to give your opinion on ways to help push the city of Macon and Bibb County forward to make it a better place for everyone, there is a new opportunity for you.

The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, the Macon-Bibb Industrial Authority, and several local non-profits have teamed up with Atlanta based Market Street Services to help make Macon be the best place it can be.

Macon-Bibb County economic development study to include community input

A new community and economic development planning project is expected to build a business plan for Macon-Bibb County.

The project, led by Atlanta-based Market Street Services -- a national community and economic development consulting firm -- was launched Monday at the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce.

Consulting firm hired to develop vision for Macon-Bibb County

An Atlanta-based consulting firm has been hired by the Macon-Bibb County chamber and other area groups to “facilitate the creation of a community and economic development strategy for Macon-Bibb County,” according to a news release.

Effort aims to restore Des Moines' urban core to health

Residents of 10 diverse and challenged neighborhoods north of downtown Des Moines often fight to finish their education, to find a job, even to put dinner on the table.

The area, mostly north and west of Interstate Highway 235, now is called the “urban core.” It has a combined population of 26,000, about the same size as Fort Dodge.
